Paul Unger has more than 30 years of senior executive search experience. He specializes in Board, CEO, CXO, Vice President and critical skill searches for companies ranging from Fortune 500 to early stage venture or private equity backed. For much of his career, Mr. Unger has worked with companies in leading edge technologies where there was no large existing universe of experienced executives from which to recruit requiring creative and innovative approaches.
Prior to forming Paul Unger NBS Search he was a partner and Managing Director, Telecommunications and Technology, at top 10 search firm, Christian & Timbers. Previously, he was a partner and Practice Leader of the Global Technology Search Practice of AT Kearney Executive Search. In addition, Mr. Unger was President of his own retained search firm for 18 years.
During his 30 year career in executive search, Mr. Unger has worked with many broad segments of technology companies and industries, including; telecommunications, satellite communications, data communications, information technology, hardware, software, systems integration, defense electronics, security, aerospace., nanotechnology, health care and insurance. His expertise has spanned commercial, government and international markets. He has conducted search assignments worldwide including, North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
His extensive knowledge of these critical markets provides clients with an intimate perspective of its players, history, successes and challenges.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Unger held various general management and Human Resources positions with The Macke Company, Indian Head, Inc., Parker Hannifin and RCA. He earned a BA in Business Administration from Upsala College. He is a founder and former Chapter President of Society of Satellite Professionals International, Advisory Board Member of MetroTech. and donates his spare time to various charitable and not-for-profit activities.
